Johnson-O’Malley (JOM) is a federal program whose main objective is to ensure that Indian children receive educational opportunities that would not otherwise be provided through the public school system. JOM is a supplemental program providing special services to Indian students based on the needs of individual communities.

The purpose of the CGESD Indigenous Parent Committee is to assist the Casa Grande Elementary School District in bringing about the most effective Indian Education Program possible. To achieve this purpose, the Indigenous Education Committee shall provide advice and assistance to the CGESD in developing, operating, and evaluating the JOM program.

All parents and current CGESD American Indian/Alaska Native students in grades K-8 are encouraged to attend. The Indigenous Education Committee and Parent meeting dates are listed below:

Parent or legal guardians will need to complete the JOM form 305 for your student to be included in the count for funding. In addition, one of the following is required: a copy of your student’s Certificate of Indian Blood (CIB) or a parent CIB, copy of Tribal Enrollment ID, or a letter from the Tribe/Nation letter stating enrollment or descendancy.Fill out the Eligibility Form here
