Letter to Families

  • November 2, 2023

    Good Afternoon CGESD Families,

Earlier this week, the Arizona Department of Education released the 2022-2023 A-F School Letter Grades for all public schools statewide. The school letter grade is as a measure of student growth, achievement, and other key areas of student readiness informed by the state assessment.

We know that a test score cannot measure most of what makes a great school great. It cannot measure how a student feels when they are greeted and welcomed each day. It cannot measure the impact that a school has on supporting families. It cannot measure the inspiration of an amazing teacher who ensures that every student believes they can achieve anything they put their mind to.

However, we know that accountability and transparency is important for our community. That being said, I am excited to share this year’s letter grades with you. I believe they represent the progress that our schools have made in creating a Destination District where all students succeed and all staff love to work.

We still have work to do, but I truly believe every single school in our district is a great place for students to be. Please continue to be a partner with us as we remain on our journey to being one of the best districts in the state of Arizona.

If you would like more information on your child’s school letter grade as well as information on how we are working to improve our schools, please visit our website at www.cgesd.org/lettergrades.

    Respectfully,

    Dr. Adam Leckie
