• Student Council is a great way for students to take on important roles within the school.

This group promotes student involvement and academic achievement. Student council positions are open to third, fourth, & fifth grade students. Fourth & fifth grade students may run for the offices of president, vice president, secretary, and treasurer, while third grade students can be grade level representatives. Students are given interviews with selective staff to build communication and leadership skills. Students learn the values of public speaking, being a role model, and school pride.

Student council members and their representatives are involved in different events within the school, such as school announcements, Cottonwood P.L.U.S., & fundraising. Student representatives also visit individual classrooms for announcements.

Overall, Student Council is a great way for students to feel more ownership of the different happenings at Cottonwood School.
