Ms. Holdsworth is from Denison, Iowa. She grew up on a farm with her parents, four brothers, and two sisters. They raised soybeans, corn, cattle, and hogs. As a child, Ms. Holdsworth spent much of her time playing school, so it was only natural that she became an educator.
Ms. Holdsworth has been an educator since 1987. She has a BA and MA from the University of Northern Iowa in elementary education and an MA in educational leadership from Northern Arizona University. She has taught in Iowa, Kansas, and Arizona, and has also worked as an instructional specialist and teacher on assignment.
Ms. Holdsworth has enjoyed working for CGESD since 2001, her favorite subject to teach is writing, and she loves to read to students to help them see how authors use words to express their thoughts. Her goal is to always do what is best for students, knowing that all children can learn. She loves to inspire students to learn and have a positive outlook.
When not at Mesquite, Ms. Holdsworth likes being at home with her daughter Melanie and their dogs Willie and Reggie. Ms. Holdsworth also enjoys decorating, going to the movies, shopping, exploring Arizona, and visiting family back in the Midwest.
