Casa Grande Middle School STEM students compete in SARSEFCasa Grande Middle School had two 8th grade students with winning projects in the Southern Arizona Research, Science & Engineering Fair: Trent James' project "Guitar Harmonics" won in the Physics, Astronomy and Mathematics category; and, Arianna Tellez' project "How much sugar is in that?" won in the Chemical and Biochemical Sciences category. 

A total of 75,000 students in Southern Arizona — from kindergarten to high school – designed projects for their local science fairs. Only the best 4,843 students were selected to advance to regional competition at the Southern Arizona Research, Science and Engineering Fair.
